D.C. Council votes for new oversight of economic development projects
The D.C. Council voted unanimously Tuesday to create new oversight of public-private land agreements, in an effort to ensure that developers keep promises to build affordable housing, meet environmental standards, hire District workers and involve local and disadvantaged businesses when they receive public land or financing.
